Turkish Airlines has selected Rockwell Collins to provide a suite of avionics for its fleet. The avionics selected includes Rockwell Collins MultiScan Hazard Detection system, Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS), data link system and sensors. The agreement includes 20 firm and 15 option B737s and 20 firm and 10 option A319/321s with deliveries beginning in 2011.

The MultiScan system analyzes and determines actual weather hazards, not simply atmospheric moisture content. The data link system supports current Mode 2 VHF data radios and allows flight crews to request and receive messages such as clearances, flight plan updates, weather data, diversion and emergency reports and passenger lists. Turkish Airlines also selected a full suite of Rockwell Collins’ sensors.
