PACE, based in Berlin, has been awarded a subcontract by Air France Industries to develop an on-board flight performance software for the French air force’s fleet of AWACS E-3Fs. PACE said the software will be designed to leverage the company’s commercial performance calculation modules to support a variety of analysis tasks from pre-flight planning to takeoff performance and in-flight rerouting scenarios. The company said the system will replace ground-based legacy planning tools as well as manual calculation procedures performed by cockpit crews during flight missions. "PACE has an excellent track record of providing performance analysis software," says Bernard Delcamp, General Manager AWACS Products at Air France Industries. "The French Air Force will certainly benefit from increased operational flexibility through this investment in state-of-the-art technology."
