Jetairfly, the Belgian arm of the TUI Airlines group, selected Wireless GroundLink Quick Access Recorder (WQAR) system from Teledyne Controls, of El Segundo, Calif., for retrofit installation on six Boeing 737s and two 767s. Teledyne said the system will allow the airline to wirelessly transfer flight data and enhance its Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA) program. Delivery is scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year. The system includes a Download on Demand (DoD) feature, which will allow the airline to remotely command flight data download whenever it needs access, regardless of airport destination, designated hub or gate connectivity. "Wireless cellular data transfer along with the DoD feature, relieves the manual process and time required to traditionally recover and process aircraft data, significantly streamlining their flight data monitoring process for quicker access to their flight data," said Hans-Juergen Neufert, Teledyne Controls’ senior manager of Sales and Service for the European region.
