Avalex Technologies, of Pensacola, Fla., earned a FAA supplemental type certificate (STC) for its Digital Map System used in the Eurocopter EC-145. The company said the STC will be important for attracting new commercial and military customers. Avalex’s Digital Map System (AMS7102) is used on EC-145s in EMS and law enforcement communities. The STC is a requirement and qualifies Avalex’s system to be used on the U.S. Army and National Guard UH-72A Lakota or Light Utility Helicopter (LUH).
