David Chesmore
Flight Display Systems, Alpharetta, Ga., named David Chesmore product engineer. Chesmore will be responsible for sustaining engineering standards and developing new products. Chesmore has more than 20 years of experience in avionics and electrical maintenance, aerospace and manufacturing engineering. Previously, he worked as an electrical engineer at Bombardier Aerospace/Learjet in Wichita, Kan. Also, Chesmore served more than 14 years in the U.S. Air Force as an avionics technician. He holds an FCC license with radar endorsement.
Bill Brodegard
Aspen Avionics, Albuquerque, N.M., named Bill Brodegard senior principal systems engineer. Brodegard will be involved in product development and certification processes. Brodegard has spent 35 years in aviation, most recently at Chelton Flight Systems, where he was responsible for TSO and STC certification of primary and multi-function flight displays and integrated systems. Before that, he was with Avidyne Corp., where he was involved with avionics development, integration and certification. He also worked at 3M Stormscope, where he initiated the design, participated in the development and led certification efforts for the Stormscope WX-1000 Series. Brodegard also served in the U.S. Air Force as an integrated avionics systems specialist for the F-111 and other aircraft.
Neil Mackay
EMS Technologies, of Atlanta, named Neil Mackay chief operating officer and executive vice president. Mackay will oversee the day-to-day operations of all EMS business units. Mackay has been with EMS Technologies for more than 15 years, with experience as a senior executive in aviation and communications. Most recently, Mackay was EVP of strategy, focusing on mergers and acquisitions. Mackay joined EMS in 1993 following its acquisition of Ottawa-based CAL Corp., where he was president and CEO. EMS Satcom was created from CAL. Before joining EMS, Mackay worked for GEAC Computers in Toronto, Innotech Aviation Ltd., in Montreal and the Trinidad and Tobago Telephone Company.
George Guerra
Northrop Grumman appointed George Guerra vice president of High-Altitude Long-Endurance (HALE) Systems, based in San Diego. Guerra assumes responsibility for overall program performance and growth of the RQ-4 Global Hawk unmanned aircraft system family. Guerra joined Northrop Grumman in 1994 after working 11 years at General Dynamics-Convair on its cruise missile programs. Current HALE Systems programs include systems for the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, and Germany (Euro Hawk).
Andrew Geist
Aircell, of Louisville, Colo., promoted Andrew Geist to senior vice president, Business Aviation Solutions. Geist will be responsible for all aspects of Aircell global business aviation sales, marketing, customer service and technical support. Before joining Aircell, Geist held positions in management and flight operations at People Express Airlines, Continental/GP Express Airlines, Jeppesen and USAIG. Also, he was co-founder and vice president of a FAA-certified repair station. With more than 2,500 hours of flight time, Geist holds a Commercial Pilot certificate with single- and multi-engine ratings, and is a Certified Flight Instructor.
Tom Neufelder
Avidyne Corp., Lincoln, Mass., named Tom Neufelder vice president of engineering. Neufelder comes to Avidyne from GE’s Healthcare organization in Plano, Texas, where he was vice president and general manager for Independent Practice Engineering. Neufelder previously led the engineering organization for GE Medical System’s Invasive Cardiology business. Neufelder also has past experience in the development of defense avionics systems and ground-based air traffic control radar equipment while serving as a senior engineer at Westinghouse Electric Corp. in Baltimore. He holds three patents for methods and devices developed for use in the defense and graphic arts industries.
Michele Nierenberg
Gulfstream Aerospace named Michele Nierenberg director of Systems Integration Engineering. She is responsible for ensuring the integration of safe, human-centric aircraft system designs. Nierenberg has been with Gulfstream for six years, most recently as manager of systems integration engineering. She also led the design team for the Gulfstream G450 powerplant and environmental control system. Nierenberg also worked for Sikorsky Aircraft as the integrated product team lead for subsystems engineering and as the senior engineer for the S-92 helicopter. She began her aerospace career at Grumman Aerospace Corp., where she worked in powerplant engineering.
Mike R. Turner
StandardAero, Winnipeg, Canada, named Mike R. Turner avionics sales manager, supporting the sales teams based in Tucson, Ariz. Turner comes to StandardAero from Bombardier Aerospace, where he served 28 years. Turner has held several roles at the company, starting as an avionics technician and most recently as regional avionics sales manager. Before that, Turner served in the U.S. Air Force as a navigation system specialist.
Debi Cunningham
West Star Aviation, East Alton, Ill, named Debi Cunningham director of marketing. Cunningham has been with West Star for six years. She started with the company as modification sales manager/interior design specialist and two years later moved into the position of national sales director.
