Honeywell announced at the Farnborough Airshow that its Runway Awareness and Alerting System (RAAS) has been added to the Airbus catalog as a product available for all Airbus aircraft.
RAAS is a software enhancement to Honeywell’s Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS) that uses the EGPWS computer and runway data base to provide pilots with audible warnings if they are taxiing onto an active runway unintentionally.
The system has been selected for Airbus’s Web portal, eCatalog and Service Bulletin availability.
