Starling Advanced Communication Ltd., based in Israel, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with EMS Defense & Space Systems, a division of EMS Technologies, to develop and manufacture a satellite-based Ku-band airborne antenna system for the U.S. commercial airline in-flight communications (IFC) market. Under the agreement, Starling and EMS Defense & Space Systems will cooperate to supply two-way low profile broadband antenna systems for airlines. Today, EMS Direct Broadcast Satellite antenna systems, sold through LiveTV, deliver live television to passengers on Jet Blue Airways, Westjet, Virgin Atlantic and others. The companies said the antenna will provide full global coverage, and will be suitable for wide body and narrow body aircraft.
