Aspen Avionics named John Uczekaj president and CEO, effective immediately. The Albuquerque, N.M.-based company said Uczekaj will replace co-founder and former CEO Peter Lyons, who will remain with Aspen along with co-founder Jeff Bethel. Both will report to Uczekaj and continue to play key roles in the development of the company, Aspen said. Uczekaj, who began his 26-year aviation career as an engineer at Boeing, has held key technical and executive management positions with companies such as Sperry and Honeywell. Aspen recently settled a lawsuit with Eclipse Aviation Corp. Last year, Aspen co-founders were sued by Eclipse, which claimed rights to the AT300 Hazard Awareness Display. Eclipse claimed the two founders developed the device while working for Eclipse and violated an agreement that anything invented on Eclipse’s time was the company’s to exploit. For related news
