Aviation Safety Resources (ASR) has a new agreement with Inteprod to design the cockpit display for its Smart Recovery System (SRS-1), which the two companies will unveil at the Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA) annual conference in Nashville, Tenn., this week.

SRS-1 provides cockpit audio alerts about potential safety hazards and the corrective action needed to bring the aircraft back to a safe flight envelope.  Inteprod will use its rapid prototyping system to design the SRS-1 control panel in collaboration with ASR and software developers at Springton Technologies.

“Today’s automated cockpit assistance systems present more data in larger displays, but a pilot must look at the displays, assess the data and make a decision,” said Dario P. Manfredi, ASR founder and president. “All of this new visual data can distract a pilot from the basic hazards. Our technology will add a much-needed audio component to situational awareness. In a hazardous situation, ASR’s SRS-1 literally tells the pilot what the data means.”
