China Eastern Airlines Selects Honeywell Equipment

China Eastern Airlines opted for a range of Honeywell avionics and other equipment for its fleet, including wheels and brakes for new and existing Boeing 737 NGs, as well as an avionics package and 131-9 auxiliary power units (APU) for 50 new Airbus A320s scheduled to be delivered over the next three years.

“These agreements ensure China Eastern is well-positioned to address growth in the marketplace with next- generation technology that offers flexibility, improves efficiencies and lowers overall operating costs,” said Briand Greer, president of Honeywell Aerospace Asia Pacific.

As part of the agreement, Honeywell will provide China Eastern with customized aftermarket maintenance system for new and existing Boeing 737 NG and Airbus narrow-body aircraft. Additionally, Honeywell will supply its aircraft landing systems for its fleet of Boeing 737NGs, and its Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System (TCAS), Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS); Flight Data Recorder (FDR) and Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR); and Airline Operational Communication (AOC) software for its fleet of Airbus A320s. Additionally, China Eastern will use Honeywell 131-9 APUs on its Airbus A320s.
