OnAir, an Airbus and SITA joint venture, signed its first VIP contract with a government in the Middle East to equip an A319 corporate jet with its voice and data connectivity services. The customer was not named. OnAir said the system will allow passengers to send and receive text messages, e-mails and voice calls in flight. “This contract marks increasing momentum for OnAir in the fast-growing VIP, corporate and government segment. VIP-level passengers are demanding customers and we are pleased to see that they have selected the same solution as the one we provide to commercial airlines,” said Benoit Debains, CEO of OnAir.
