Panasonic Avionics Corp., Lake Forest, Calif., said it finished a successful week of in-flight operability testing for its eX2 in-flight entertainment (IFE) system aboard the Airbus A380 aircraft. In a series of high-profile test runs around the world, the Airbus A380 touched down in New York and Washington, D.C., last week. Panasonic said the eX2 system performed well during the entire flight, including when passengers were asked to carry out system stress tests by simultaneously selecting the same movies and games. The A380 will continue to carry out flights over the next few months, where the Panasonic test team will further expose the eX2 system to the stresses of high temperatures and additional severe environmental conditions.
