[Avionics Today July 18, 2014] Israel Aerospace Industries’ (IAI) subsidiary European Advanced Technology (EAT) has acquired a minority holding in Brazilian aerospace and defense manufacturer Avionics Services. The two companies have also signed a cooperation agreement to market and manufacture avionics systems, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), sensors and aerial platforms upgrades in the Brazilian defense market. Specifically, the cooperation is targeting public security projects that it believes could serve as examples for expanding into other international markets in the future.
"We view Brazil as one of our strategic markets and intend to expand our activities in this important region. Our investment and cooperation with ‘Avionics Services’ are an expression of our ongoing commitment to support the Brazilian customers," said Joseph Weiss, president and CEO of IAI.
