Sweden is improving the situational awareness for its Deployable Airfield Unit (DAU) with a new $7.5 million contract to acquire the Exelis GCA-2000.
The GCA-2000 will be Sweden’s second transportable electronically scanned system. Three radar functions, primary surveillance, precision approach and secondary surveillance on the GCA-2000 are designed to improve situational awareness.
"This award builds upon our 30-year partnership with Sweden and strengthens our position as the premier supplier of transportable air traffic management systems, a key component in critical transportation networks across Europe and throughout the world," said Dave Prater, vice president and general manager of the radar, reconnaissance and undersea systems business at Exelis.
