Charter carrier Danish Air Transport has a new three-year charting and electronic flight bag (EFB) service agreement with Jeppesen to begin using a combination of onboard and mobile EFBs.

The carrier will use the Windows-based Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro for its installed avionics, and the iPad-based version of Pro to provide pilots with mobile access to flight data. Both versions are aimed at reducing Danish Air Transport pilots’ reliance on paper-based flight information manuals.
The dual EFB format is unique, as most airlines have selected to use only the iPad or other tablet-based EFBs without installing an onboard version.
Danish Air Transport CEO Jesper Rungholm said the EFBs will help continue the regional carrier’s “transition to a paperless operating environment.”
