ITT Exelis said it successfully completed electromagnetic compatibility testing of its Advanced Integrated Defensive Electronic Warfare Suite (AIDEWS) at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif.
The AIDES system provides situational awareness and protection against radar-based threats for F-16 pilots, the company said.
The six weeks of testing featured multiple radio frequency systems operating simultaneously in an F-16. The testing was part of the qualification process for the Pakistan F-16 upgrade program.
ITT said it has 160 AIDES systems in production for six nations through the F-16 foreign military sales program.
