Star Navigation Systems Group, based in Toronto, signed a memorandum of agreement with Esterline CMC Electronics to create an integrated, turn-key aircraft data monitoring and reporting system for OEMs.

The system is based on CMC’s PilotView Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) and Star’s STAR-ISMS In-Flight Safety Monitoring System software, coupled with applications and aircraft integration services. CMC will promote the resulting solution to OEMs and select customers within the Air Transport and Business Jet markets as part of its cockpit system offerings, the companies said.

"Through this collaboration with Star, we will focus on establishing a more integrated capability built around our EFB systems, which includes the STAR-ISMS software, and which could increase flight safety and deliver operational efficiencies in a variety of applications, such as business jets and helicopters as well as special missions in the medical, fire fighting and military fields,” said Greg Yeldon, president, Esterline CMC Electronics.
