Raytheon was awarded a $42 million contract from the U.S. Navy to provide 14 infrared advanced targeting forward looking pod systems (ATFLIR) and spares to the Swiss air force. The systems will be delivered in 2010 for use on the Swiss government’s F/A-18 Hornets. "The value of the Swiss Air Force participating in a program such as ATFLIR is substantial as we cooperate to advance system technology and mission capabilities," said Capt. Mark Darrah, Navy program manager for the F/A-18 and E/A-18G aircraft.
