Rockwell Collins said its HGS-6605 Head-Up Guidance System (HGS) series will be a new option for Bombardier Challenger 605. The Rockwell Collins HGS-6600, featuring an advanced active-matrix liquid crystal display, presents critical flight information in the pilot’s forward field of view and integrates infrared images from the Bombardier Enhanced Vision System (BEVS). Bombardier developed BEVS in cooperation with Thales Avionics and CMC Electronics, which supplies the SureSight camera. With the HGS-6605, aircraft flight path and attitude symbols are overlayed on the outside scene, enhancing situational awareness, improving energy management and increasing touchdown precision, Rockwell Collins said.
