[Avionics Today 10-20-2014] Bombardier introduced the latest variant of its Challenger business jet family, the Challenger 650, at the National Business Aviation (NBAA) Conference and Exhibition in Orlando, Fla. The 650  was introduced during a special unveiling event, where the Canadian airframe manufacturer announced NetJets as the launch customer.

In 2012, NetJets placed an order for 25 Challenger 650s, formerly referred to as the Challenger 605 NG.

“The Challenger 650 jet enhances our leading business aircraft portfolio, the largest within the industry and will establish new standards in its segment,” said Eric Martel, president, Bombardier Business Aircraft.

Bombardier has also selected the nice Cabin Management System/In-flight Entertainment (CMS/IFE) system from Lufthansa Technik for the Challenger 650. This marks Bombardier’s latest selection of Lufthansa Technik’s nice system, which is also featured on the Learjet 70, Learjet 75, Learjet 85 and Challenger 350.
