U.S. Naval Air Systems Command (Navair) has awarded Lockheed Martin $24.1 million for recurring F-35 work, the Defense Dept. said. The award is a modification to a previously awarded contract for recurring logistics services for the F-35 Lightning II.

This contract modification covers material for depot stand up and activation, canopy systems and avionics subsystems, the department said. Work is to be done in Fort Worth, Texas, with an expected completion date of August 2019.

Although Navair is the contractor, this work supports the Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, non-Defense participants and foreign military sales customers. Of the full contract worth, 45% of the purchase is for the Air Force, 24% is for the Marine Corps, 14% is for non-Defense participants, 13% is for the Navy and 4% is for foreign military sales.
