Panasonic Avionics Corp., Lake Forest, Calif., said airline Air Austral ordered its in-flight entertainment system eX2 for installation on three 777-200 and two new B777-300. Financial terms were not disclosed. Delivery is slated for February 2009. Panasonic said the eX2, the next generation product in its X Series product line, allows airlines increased storage, increased passengers per audio/video server and faster loading times. Air Austral, based in St Denis, Réunion, operates scheduled and non-scheduled services between Mauritius, Seychelles, Mayotte, the Comores, Madagascar, South Africa and France mainland.
