[Avionics Today 11-05-2015] VistaJet has become the first business aviation operator to sign up for Inmarsat’s Jet Connex broadband connectivity service. The VistaJet broadband deal was announced by Rockwell Collins, which acts as a value added reseller of Jet Connex through its ARINCDirect business.

According to Rockwell Collins, the Jet Connex is a Ka-band broadband service operating on Inmarsat’s next generation I-5 satellites that will become globally available in early 2016.

“Our customers are increasingly demanding faster and more reliable in-flight internet service as a routine part of their business travel,” said Nick Van Der Meer, Chief Operating Officer (COO) at VistaJet. “With the ARINCDirect service, VistaJet passengers will be guaranteed the connections they need.”
