[Avionics Today April 29, 2014]  Swiss International Airlines has appointed Marcel Witzig as the new CEO of its subsidiary, Swiss AviationTraining (SAT).

Witzig, currently serving as head of ground services for SAT, will replace Manfred Brennwald on May 19, 2014. Brennwald decided to resign from the position last summer after seven years as SAT’s chief executive, and will remain with the company as a flying instructor.

“In Marcel Witzig we have appointed an experienced airline professional to succeed,” said Roland Busch, chairman of the SAT board of directors.

Witzig has served as head of ground services at SAT since 2002.
