ECS, which was acquired this month by Carlisle Companies, entered into a data licensing agreement with Boeing allowing the use of Boeing detail engineering design data to develop Supplemental Type Certificates (STC) for installation of Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) on Boeing aircraft. According to ECS, of Franklin, Wis., this agreement will permit the company to manufacture EFB installation kits, and licensed spare parts with Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) under the ECS FAA approved quality system.
