LATAM Airlines Brazil wants Gogo 2Ku on its Airbus A320s, Gogo said. The operator has selected Gogo’s equipment for 100 aircraft.

“2Ku delivers a ground-like internet experience, including the ability to stream video, to passengers on aircraft flying around the world,” said Michael Small, Gogo’s president and CEO.

Gogo’s 2Ku technology can deliver more than 15 Mbps to each passenger device. This covers more than 98% of all flight hours around the world with 98% system availability, according to the company. LATAM’s A320s are to receive Gogo’s new modem.

The connectivity service is set to begin in the first half of next year. The technology’s rollout is set for the first half of 2019.
