[Avionics Today 08-09-2016] In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) solutions provider Global Eagle Entertainment (GEE) has signed a contract with Avianca Brasil to provide IFC to the carrier’s full fleet of more than 40 aircraft. Avianca Brasil operates in 24 airports with more than 200 daily flights in South America.

GEE has provided IFE content services to Avianca Brasil and its partner airline, Avianca, since June 2015. The new IFC service will use and incorporate certain assets from EMC, the company recently acquired by GEE, including already procured satellite bandwidth in the region and the Speednet technology to improve browsing speeds.
