[Avionics Today 01-25-2016] JetBlue Airways is upgrading its seatback In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) systems on current and future A320 fleets with Thales’ STV+. JetBlue will be the launch customer for STV+, which uses a lightweight, seat-centric design featuring live and integrated video content and broadband connectivity.

JetBlue will be the first commercial airline to offer its passengers direct broadcast satellite television as well as connectivity embedded in the seatback. Retrofit installations on the A320 fleet will begin in early 2017.

Thales is offering STV+ as a solution for the A320 fleet, which includes line maintenance and support services, software solutions, system engineering and Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the aircraft.
