Airbus to Acquire Navtech

[Avionics Today 12-22-2015] Airbus has announced a new agreement to acquire 100 percent of the shares of the Navtech group of companies. The U.K.-based Navtech currently provides Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) solutions, aeronautical charts, and other flight planning solutions for more than 400 operators globally.

Airbus did not disclose details associated with the agreement, and closing is still subject to regulatory approval of the acquisition. Navtech generates annual revenues of $42 million and employs 250 employees based mainly in the U.K.
 

“Connecting Navtech’s experience with the ‘Services by Airbus’ network will enable us to be more innovative, diversifying our range of services and flight operations solutions, while providing our customers with greater flexibility,” said Laurent Martinez, senior vice president of services at Airbus.
