[Avionics Today 10-24-2014] Qatar Airways’ first Airbus A380 entered service this month as a fully connected aircraft. The airline’s nine other A380s will also be serviced with in-flight Wi-Fi and use of mobile phone networks through connectivity provider, OnAir.

The new Qatar Airways aircraft will operate a route between Doha, Qatar and London, England with passengers able to use mobile phones, smartphones, tablets and laptops as they do on the ground, according to a statement released by OnAir. Currently, more than half the world’s A380s are connected through the OnAir network.
