[Avionics Today 09-03-2014] Gogo has announced that Aircell, the company’s business aviation division, has rebranded under the name Gogo Business Aviation. The commercial and business divisions now share a brand, which Gogo believes will allow passengers to better identify the full extent of its business.

While Aircell has been a part of the company since its inception, Gogo Business Aviation will go forward with the same employees and, operationally, the divisions will continue exchanging expertise and technologies while remaining focused on their respective markets, according to a statement released by Gogo. However, to accommodate growing demand, all of Gogo Business Aviation’s operations will soon be relocating its headquarters to a larger space near its existing location in Broomfield, Colo.

“The past five years has seen a remarkable menu of in-flight capabilities emerge for business aircraft operators, including Internet, e-mail, voice, texting, personal smartphone usage, movies, TV episodes, news, weather, cockpit data and more. And at the same time, the onboard equipment has become orders-of-magnitude smaller, lighter and more affordable. These truly are exciting times,” said John Wade, Gogo Business Aviation’s executive vice president and general manager, commenting on the company’s rapidly expanding business.
