[Avionics Today June 15, 2014] Greenwich AeroGroup has expanded its network for the installation and certification of LiveAero Broadband satellite communications systems to Tokyo, Japan. The U.S.-based aircraft services provider signed an agreement adding Japnese avionics systems provider Navicom to its dealer network.

LiveAero is a data broadband in-flight connectivity system that can be configured for fixed and rotary wing aircraft. Developed by Thales subsidiary LiveTV, the system is based upon Iridium’s OpenPort broadband technology with Wi-Fi enabled, bi-directional data effective speed of up to 300 kbps.

Navicom is also the current Japanese distributor for Greenwich Aerogroup’s DAC International.
