[Avionics Today June 9, 2014] American Airlines has signed an agreement with Gogo to add Air to Ground (ATG) in-flight connectivity on a fleet of 30 new Bombardier CRJ-900 NextGen jets.

The U.S.-based carrier currently has more than 850 aircraft in its commercial fleet equipped with Gogo connectivity service. Bombardier recently delivered the first CRJ900, part of an order for 30 CRJ900s placed by American in December 2013.

According to Bombardier, American is the first airline to add the newly enhanced CRJ900 to its fleet, which provides a 5.5 percent fuel burn reduction over previous generation CRJ900 regional jets.
