[Avionics Today 3-19-2015] Teledyne Controls has announced that an entire fleet of Boeing 737 Next Generation (737NG) aircraft belonging to a North American airline will be retrofitted with its Digital Flight Data Acquisition Unit (DFDAU). The airline will be adding the new DFDAU technology to more than 400 aircraft over the next 18 months.

The retrofit will enhance the Aircraft Condition Monitoring System’s (ACMS) capabilities and allow the airline to take advantage of Boeing’s Airplane Health Management (AHM) program on the fleet of 737s.

The Teledyne DFDAU is an integrated system combining data acquisition and recording with a sophisticated ACMS to provide operators with standardized hardware and software for more efficient data acquisition, management and recording.

“It will allow our client to convert ‘data’ into meaningful, real-time information to further improve operational effectiveness and support enhanced flight safety,” said Masood Hassan, president of Teledyne Controls.
