Manifest Rules Completed

Requirements for private aircraft entering the United States to file a complete manifest an hour prior to flight includes advance notice of arrival and departure information, aircraft identification information and a complete passenger and crew manifest are now the law, after issuance of the final rule to close the gap between private and commercial aviation security requirements.
The information must be submitted to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) via an approved electronic data interchange system. In addition pilots will be required to compare manifest information with the Department of Homeland Security’s approved documents presented at by each passenger. Pilots will then receive a departure authorization from the data exchange system. It also extends to private aircraft the requirements that aircraft planning departures from the United States to off-shore destinations to file notice electronically and obtain departure permission.
