After founder and long-time President and Chief Executive Officer Jeffery A. Cullen announced he was stepping down to become vice president of strategic development, he indicated PlaneSmart! will be expanding into the air taxi business focusing on very light jets. He is succeeded by Marketing and Media Communications Representative Michael Brosler. The company said the move was a planned organizational change designed to address the evolving needs of the marketplace and to position PlaneSmart! to continue its growth.
"After four years of building PlaneSmart! into general aviation's premiere fractional aircraft provider,” said Jeffery Cullen, “it is time to pursue other interests of strategic benefit to our investors such as on-demand air taxi and the introduction of personal jet products to our market." Cullen will work with Neo Ventures, LLC, PlaneSmart!'s venture capital partner, to pursue long-term strategic aviation opportunities.
Besides having represented PlaneSmart! to the industry, Brosler founded a marketing and film production business that has brought numerous aviation television programs and documentaries to the market. He also has 16 years experience in the high technology and telecommunication industries holding senior positions in various financial, marketing, and operational organizations.
"Mike's track record at managing customer focused organizations, coupled with his passion for aviation, makes him an excellent choice to lead PlaneSmart! during our next phase of development," stated Neo Ventures Chair Adam Wagner.
"Mike can provide the leadership to continue to drive PlaneSmart!'s business to the next level," said Cullen.
PlaneSmart! provides managed shares of Cirrus SR22-G3 aircraft. PlaneSmart!'s business plans include incorporating additional type aircraft into its program, servicing the non-pilot customer, and expanding operations across the United States.
