Banyan Air Service recently hosted Grob Aerospace’s spn LJ mock-up display at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport. Grob Aerospace sales directors, Skip Hockman and Joshua Kovac, as well as customer service director, Cary Brown, were on hand to answer questions.
“We are pleased to have the spn here on display at Banyan. The aircraft has an elegant looking interior, designed by Porsche Design Studio, an impressive integrated Honeywell glass cockpit and landing characteristics that enable more destination possibilities,” states Nancy Bouvier, Banyan’s director of marketing.
The spn has a full carbon fiber construction, is a mid-sized jet, powered by two Williams FJ44-3A turbofan engines. It seats six or eight people and is certified for single-pilot operation. The spn can land on grass or gravel runways, has an 1800 nautical mile range, and can use a balanced field length of only 3000 feet. The spn costs approximately $7.4 million dollars.
The spn display which has been on tour since the beginning of November, has toured six locations in Florida, will stop in Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio before continuing on to Scottsdale for Barrett-Jackson (Collector Car Auction Event) and then on to Phoenix for Super Bowl XLII. The spn tour will visit the rest of the USA and parts of Canada throughout the next year.
Based at the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE), Banyan is a 24-hour, full-service fixed base operation, with more than one million square feet of hangar and office space within an 85-acre aviation complex. The company provides comprehensive business aviation services, including FBO services, aircraft sales, heavy maintenance, avionics, parts distribution, and Hangar63 (Banyan’s Aviation Store). Banyan caters to domestic and international aircraft owners, corporations and governmental agencies. The firm has been in operation for 28 years and currently employs over 150 employees.
