The
Air Charter Safety Foundation (ACSF) set February 19-20 for its first Air Charter Safety Symposium – Developing a Healthy Safety Culture – to take place at the
National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) Training Center in Ashburn, VA, near Washington.
NTSB Vice Chairman Robert Sumwalt will discuss the development of safety cultures while
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Accident Specialist Peter Devaris reviews recent Part 135 accidents and contributing factors while
FAA’s Don Arendt covers future safety management systems requirements in the U.S. Also on the agenda is
NASA Expert James Oberg who will outline how the agency is healing its “sick” safety culture, according to the Air Charter Safety Foundation. In addition, workshops of top industry safety professionals will offer “tools you can use.” Finally,
Transport Canada Expert Jacqueline Booth-Bourdeau will review Canadian safety management systems.
“A strong, mature safety culture is not built overnight, and requires dedication to stay effective,” said ACSF Vice Chairman Jim Christiansen of
NetJets Aviation. “The safety professionals scheduled to speak at this symposium are world-renowned for their expertise. That’s why this event is such an opportunity for me and my management team.”
Online registration is available at www.acsf.aero. A discounted early bird registration fee is currently in effect.
