Turkish Airlines on Monday finalized an order for five Boeing 777-300 ERs, a $1.6 billion order at current list prices.

The aircraft are part of a December 2012 order for 15 of the 777-300ERs, which included options for five additional planes. Monday's announcement brings the Turkish national carrier's total order to 20 777-300ERs, as it looks to expand its commercial fleet with fuel efficient long haul aircraft.
In April, the state-run airline announced its plan to purchase 95 aircraft from Boeing by 2021.

Boeing's backlog with Turkish Airlines now includes more than 100 aircraft, including Next-Generation 737s, 737 MAXs and 777-300ERs.
