Travel Service Firms Boeing MAX Order

Boeing on Wednesday announced the completion of a $301.5 million order from Czech Republic-based charter carrier Travel Service for three 737 MAX 8s.

Roman Vik, general director for Travel Service, said the carrier is looking to grow its fleet of passenger aircraft based on newer 737 variants.

In June Boeing announced the completion of the firm configuration for its 737 MAX 8, which will feature CFM International's LEAP-1B engines with a range of 3,500 nautical miles, an increase of 540 nautical miles over the Next-Generation 737. The 737 MAX 8 is scheduled to enter into service beginning in 2017.

Travel Service did not announce an expected delivery date for the new aircraft.
