Shuster to Head House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee
The House Republican Conference has appointed Rep. Bill Shuster (R-Pa.) as chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
The Pennsylvania congressman has served on the committee since 2001, and will succeed Rep. John Mica (R-Fla.).
“Transportation issues are among the most critical that we face in Congress and as a nation. Our transportation infrastructure is the backbone that supports economic growth and global competiveness,” said Shuster. “I look forward to continuing to work to reform programs, focus our resources where they are needed most, restore regulatory balance, and better manage our federal assets.”
