Sberbank Agrees to $1 Billion Deal With Boeing for 737s
Russian leasing company, Sberbank Leasing, has placed a $1 billion order with Boeing for 12 Next-Generation 737-800s.

The Sberbank of Russia subsidiary will use the aircraft for operational leasing under its current contract with Russian carrier Transaero Airlines. Transaero currently operates a fleet that includes 10 short-to-mid range 737-800s, each with a 158-seat capacity.
Executives from Boeing called the transaction a “historic milestone” in the company’s relationship with Sberbank, as the bank moves into the aircraft leasing industry.
The order comes following Boeing’s announcement of first quarter commercial aircraft figures, which included 102 deliveries of 737s to 32 different customers worldwide. More
