SWISS to Acquire Six Boeing 777-300ERs
Swiss International Airlines (SWISS), a subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group, announced a commitment Thursday for six Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, a $1.9 billion order according to current list prices.
SWISS CEO Harry Hohmeister said the carrier selected the 777-300ER to compete with airlines operating aircraft with more than 300 seats on similar routes.
The proposed order would bring the first Boeing aircraft to the SWISS fleet, which currently features Airbus and Avro RJ 100 aircraft.
