Pratt & Whitney Delivers Engines for India, Qatar C17s
Pratt & Whitney delivered enough F117-PW-100 engines to power five Boeing C-17 Globemaster III’s for the Indian air force and two new C-17s for the Qatar Emiri air force (QEAF).
India will receive the first five of 10 C-17s on order this year and another five in 2014, the company said.
The QEAF is taking delivery of its two new C-17s from Boeing this week.
The C-17s are powered by four F117-PW-100 engines, which are based on Pratt & Whitney’s PW2040 commercial engine that powers the Boeing 757.
“Pratt & Whitney remains committed to producing these safe, reliable and dependable engines to help nations like Qatar effectively address their evolving airlift needs and capabilities,” said Bev Deachin, vice president, military program and customer support at Pratt & Whitney. More
