Pratt and Whitney said Thursday it has secured orders for more than 1,000 aircraft engines at the Paris Air Show, capturing more than 50 percent of engine orders for new engine option (neo) Airbus
The order total includes options, and consists of sales of its PW4000, Pure Power and IAE V2500 engines.
Additionally, the company announced that the PW1100G-JM engine currently in development for the A320neo, made its first test flight in May.
"We are also making tremendous progress on the F-135 program," said Pratt & Whitney President David Hess. During the air show, the company announced the 100th delivery of its F-35 Lightning II engine.
