MNG Airlines Ready to Deploy Electronic Flight Bags

Woodrow Bellamy III

Turkish airfreight carrier MNG Airlines has agreed to a five-year electronic flight bag (EFB) service contract with Jeppesen, the Boeing Digital Aviation subsidiary said Friday, Nov. 22.

Under the agreement, MNG will integrate the Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro EFB and eliminate its paper-based flight manuals. The airline has not disclosed when it will begin the transition to the iPad-based EFBs.

The airline will look to go paperless across its entire fleet of freighter aircraft including the Airbus A330-200F, A300-600 and Boeing 747-400.

“Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro will provide the foundation for MNG Airlines to rid their operation of paper content and reduce fuel consumption through weight reduction,” said Tim Huegel, director of aviation portfolio management at Jeppesen.
