MH-60 Jayhawks Used in Coast Guard Medevac: Video
Source: U.S. Coast Guard
The U.S. Coast Guard used a Sikorsky MH-60 Jayhawk for two rescues off the Alaskan coast last week. On June 10, a Kodiak crew medevaced an injured mariner from a vessel in the Gulf of Alaska. The crew hoisted the man from a 58-foot fishing vessel and transported him to Anchorage.
On June 12, a Sitka crew transported a 23-year-old man, who was suffering from appendicitis-like symptoms, from the 950-foot cruise ship Crown Princess 95 miles west of Juneau.
The Jayhawk crew safely hoisted the man and transported him to Juneau where he was transferred to commercial emergency medical services for additional medical treatment.
