Lockheed’s F-35C Completes First Dual Refueling

Lockheed Martin’s F-35C Lightning II test aircraft completed its first ever in-flight dual refueling during a test flight over Patuxent River, Md.

The F-35 variant completed the task with a KC-130 Hercules, achieving a milestone in the F-35 flight test program which will feature more than 1,000 flights in 2013.

The U.S. Air Force expects the F-35A, the conventional takeoff and landing version of Lockheed Martin’s fifth generation fighter aircraft, to enter service in 2018. More
