Lockheed Martin to Provide Retrofits for Oman Air Force Fighter Aircraft
Lockheed Martin has been awarded a $94.7 million firm-fixed-price contract to provide retrofitting of 12 F-16 C/D Block 60 multi-role fighter aircraft for the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO).
The U.S. Department of Defense awarded the contract through the foreign military sales program for the government of Oman, and the retrofits are expected to be completed by 2016.
“The Oman retrofit program is designed to bring their existing aircraft up to a common configuration with the aircraft they recently procured,” said BJ Boling, spokesperson for the F-16/T-50/F-2 aeronautics division at Lockheed Martin.
