Japan Certifies Simplex AW139 Fire Attack System

Helicopter mission equipment provider Simplex Aerospace announced a new Japanese STC for its fire attack system, Model 326GII, on the AgustaWestland AW139. Simplex said its fire attack system is the lightest belly tank system per gallon of capacity on the market, with an approved maximum speed of 150 KIAS without the hover pump installed. The Yokahama Fire Department currently operates the Simplex fire attack system on its AW139.

Additionally, the company received EASA certification for its model 510 Eurocopter AS350 and AS355 aerial cleaning and de-icing system in February. The model 510 system joins Simplex's Model 508 for the Bell 407 as the third-generation certified power line, windmill cleaning and de-icing system for utility operators.
